Beta Program Agreement

Last updated: April 20, 2026

This Beta Program Agreement supplements the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy for participants in the Provenance Beta Program operated by STDIO Labs.

1. Beta Phases

Phase 1: Closed Beta (Free)

  • Access is by invitation only.
  • All features are provided free of charge.
  • Tenant data is stored in a shared database with logical isolation.
  • STDIO Labs team members may access anonymized usage data for debugging and improvement purposes.
  • Data retention: 6 months.

Phase 2: Open Beta (Paid)

  • Access is open to all users.
  • Pricing will be announced before this phase begins. All users will be notified in advance.
  • Tenant data is stored in isolated, encrypted database instances.
  • Customer-supplied encryption keys are supported for data-at-rest encryption.
  • Data retention: 12 months.

2. Service Level

The Beta Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without any service level agreement (SLA). We make reasonable efforts to maintain uptime and performance, but do not guarantee availability, response times, or data durability during the beta period.

3. Changes and Removals

During the beta period, features may be added, modified, or removed without prior notice. API endpoints, SDK interfaces, and data schemas may change between releases. We will make reasonable efforts to communicate breaking changes in advance.

4. Data Between Phases

Data may be wiped between beta phases. Before any data wipe, we will:

  • Notify all affected users at least 14 days in advance.
  • Provide data export tools where feasible.
  • Offer migration assistance for users transitioning to the next phase.

5. Transition to Production

At the end of the beta period, you will be given the option to:

  • Upgrade — transition to a paid plan. Your data will be migrated to the production environment.
  • Continue on Free Tier — a free tier will always be available, though features and limits may differ from beta.
  • End membership — your data will be retained for the applicable retention period, then permanently deleted.

6. Feedback

We welcome and encourage feedback during the beta. By providing feedback, suggestions, or bug reports, you grant STDIO Labs a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use that feedback to improve the Service. You will not be compensated for feedback unless separately agreed in writing.

7. Access Revocation

STDIO Labs reserves the right to revoke beta access at any time, for any reason, including but not limited to violation of the Terms of Service, abuse of the platform, or capacity constraints. We will make reasonable efforts to provide notice before revocation.

8. Open Source Components

The following components are provided under the MIT License:

  • Provenance SDK (Node.js, TypeScript, Python, Java)
  • Provenance CLI
  • Provenance MCP Server

These tools require a valid Provenance API key or OAuth client to connect to the Service. The platform itself (API, UI, Platform BFF) is proprietary software owned by STDIO Labs.
